What are Slubs?

Once thought of as defective yarn that would (sadly) end up on the cutting room floor, slub yarn is now responsible for one of the most popular fabrications in manufacturing. Thanks to it’s uneven surface and slightly sheer appearance, this unique texture has become a modern essential.

Slub yarn actually came about on accident. One of the early problems with automated carding and spinning processes was the appearance of an accompanying section of the yarn that was fuller than the yarn was intended to be. This soft lump, called a slub would appear from time to time over each run of yarn, and would have to be removed before the material would be ready for warping or twisting. Over time, the concept of yarns containing a high count of “slubs” as a textural and style alternative began to develop into the highly popular slub fabrication we know and love today.

What are Tri-Blends?

A blend of three types of yarn (50% polyester, 25% cotton, and 25% rayon), triblends boast the comfort of cotton, durability of polyester, and the luxurious drape of rayon, which was initially created as a substitute for silk. Triblend tees are knit together with a 40 single needle (the higher the single, the softer the tee), and then undergo a special finishing treatment. The result? An extremely soft, luxurious tee.

ORDERING INFORMATION

Due to the custom nature of our apparel and non-apparel products and to keep or prices affordable, we place bulk orders to our vendors every Thursday to complete design orders we receive. We typically receive items to be customized on the next day in our design and production studio to stay within our 10 business day turnaround time. All orders placed before 8:00 AM EST each Thursday will be included in our order for the week. Any orders placed after this cut-off time WILL NOT be ordered for customization in-house until the following Thursday. If you would like us to order your items outside of our normal ordering timeframe, you may do so for a nominal fee. Please select this option in the in the order details.

While we use multiple vendors to source our apparel, should the selected size or color you have selected are not available in the brand you selected, we will contact you for item alternatives.

There are no refunds on any part of a design order once placed and payment has been received. We have taken great steps to include all information you will need to make an informed sizing decision.
